LICENSES and PERMITS

• AUTOMOBILE TAG.  Automobiles garaged in the Town of Irvington are required to have and display an Automobile Tag.  The tag can be purchased annually for $20 at the Town Office, 235 Steamboat Road, Irvington, beginning on February 15th through March 31st.   
     
• ZONING PERMITS.  A zoning permit is required for:
  • House construction, including an addition or alteration;
  • Fence construction 
  • Out buildings or sheds,
  • Placement of a flag poles and/or signs,
  • Swimming pools (above ground or in-ground with a conditional use permit),
  • Walk way 
  • Generally, any construction that affects the footprint of a structure.

A zoning permit can be obtained at the Town Office prior to the start of construction for $35.  (NOTE:  Generally it is also necessary to obtain a building permit from the Lancaster County Land Use Office.)

• BUSINESS PERMIT.  Prior to starting a business in Irvington, it is necessary to first have your planned activity reviewed, at a minimum for parking and signage ordinance conformance, by the Planning Commission at a Public Hearing. 
  
  Subsequently, the planned activity may be required to be submitted to the Town Council for approval.
  
  A conditional use permit may be required for a fee of $35.
